Room on the Broom Story

Once upon a time, a kind witch had a cat and a very tall hat. She also had long, red hair tied in a braid. They loved to fly on their broomstick through the windy sky.

But one day, the wind blew so hard, it took the witch’s hat right off her head! The witch and her cat landed on the ground to look for it. They searched and searched, but the hat was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly, a happy dog came bounding out of the bushes! He had the witch’s hat in his mouth. He gave it back politely and wagged his tail. “I’m a dog as helpful as can be,” he barked. “Is there room on the broom for a dog like me?”

“Yes!” said the witch, and the dog jumped on the broom. The witch tapped the broomstick, and whoosh! They were flying again.

They flew over fields and forests, with the dog’s tail wagging in the wind. But then, the wind blew even harder! This time, it blew the bow right off the witch’s braid!

Down they went again to find the bow. They looked everywhere, but it was gone. Then, a green bird flew down from a tree. She had the bow in her beak! She dropped it politely and bowed her head. “I’m a bird as green as can be,” she chirped. “Is there room on the broom for a bird like me?”

“Yes!” cried the witch, and the bird hopped onto the broom. The witch tapped the broomstick, and whoosh! They were flying again.

They flew over rivers and reeds, with the bird singing happily. But oh no! The wind blew again, and this time, it took the witch’s wand!

Down they went to find the wand. They searched and searched, but they couldn’t find it. Then, a wet frog hopped out of a pond. He had the witch’s wand! He gave it back politely and croaked, “I’m a frog as clean as can be. Is there room on the broom for a frog like me?”

“Yes!” said the witch, and the frog jumped onto the broom. The witch tapped the broomstick, and whoosh! They were flying again.

But with so many friends on the broom, it suddenly snapped! The cat, the dog, and the frog tumbled down into a bog. The witch and the broken broomstick landed nearby.

Just then, a scary dragon appeared. He licked his lips and said, “Maybe I’ll have a witch for dinner!”

But suddenly, a strange creature rose from the bog. It was tall, dark, and sticky, with feathers and fur. It had four heads and wings like a bird. It roared in four different voices, “Buzz off, dragon! That’s our witch!”

The dragon got scared and flew away. The strange creature was actually the cat, the dog, and the frog all stuck together! They had scared the dragon away to save the witch.

The witch was so grateful. She made a special potion in her cauldron. She asked everyone to throw something in. The frog found a lily, the cat found a pinecone, the bird found a twig, and the dog found a bone.

She stirred the potion, and zoom! A brand new, bigger broom appeared! It had seats for everyone.

The witch and all her friends climbed on the new broom. The witch tapped it, and whoosh! They flew off into the sky, happy to be together.

And that brings us to the end of our room on the broom story. We learned about kindness, friendship, and how even when things go wrong, working together can make them right. Sweet dreams, and we hope you enjoyed this room on the broom bedtime story!
