A long, long time ago—about 3,000 years back—God sent someone very special to Earth. His name was Jesus. He was born in Bethlehem in a surprising way, and he was loved and cared for by his mother, Mary, and father, Joseph. Jesus grew up learning to help everyone around him and share stories about God’s love.
As he got older, Jesus began doing amazing things. He could make a tiny bit of food feed thousands, heal sick people with a gentle touch, calm storms, and even bring people back to life! Because of his kindness, people gathered from everywhere to listen to him and be near him.
But not everyone was happy. Some people grew jealous of Jesus and didn’t want him around. The rulers, known as the Romans, captured him and took him to a place called Golgotha, or “The Place of the Skull.” They tried to offer him a special drink, but Jesus refused. Then, they did something very sad—they nailed Jesus to a cross at around 9 in the morning, with two other people on crosses beside him.
Many people passing by shouted unkind things at Jesus, mocking him and saying, “If you can do so many wonderful things, save yourself!” But Jesus stayed calm and brave, even when the chief priests made fun of him.
The Day Turned Dark: Jesus’ Passing
Around 3 in the afternoon, something mysterious happened—the sky turned dark. Jesus looked up and said, “My God, I give my spirit to you!” And with that, he closed his eyes and passed away. At that very moment, a curtain in the temple tore from top to bottom, and a Roman soldier watching nearby said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
The Wonderful Return: Jesus Comes Back
After his passing, Jesus went to heaven, where all his pain disappeared. But God told Jesus that his friends and followers still needed him, so Jesus returned to Earth in a miracle called the Resurrection. He came back to bring joy and hope!
Early one morning, Mary and her friends brought spices to put on Jesus’ body. As they walked to the tomb where Jesus lay, they worried about the huge stone blocking the entrance. But when they arrived, they found the stone already moved!
Inside the tomb, they saw an angel who told them, “Jesus isn’t here. God has brought him back to life!” Jesus had risen again, showing that his love would always protect his people. He had taken away their worries and returned to guide them once more.
The Easter story reminds us all about Jesus’ endless love, his courage, and the miracle of his return. It’s a story that brings light and hope to all who hear it!
